One in Christ

Today, I was sharing a few of my experiences while in DTS (Discipleship Training School) through YWAM (Youth With A Mission) with a few of my friends at school. After sharing these stories with them, I felt compelled to share it with more than just them. Side note: Due to the seriousness of the subject, names have been left out and the story has been slightly adjusted! The meaning and message is still the same! I in no way attend to offend anyone through this.

Here's a little background information:
Throughout my DTS, we had 10 speakers and 10 different topics. But before any of the speakers began, we spent a week sharing testimonies. 100 people and 100 different incredible stories. As people began sharing their stories, we realized that we all had very similar stories that had a common theme: pain. We all experienced some level or degree of pain and were seeking healing from that pain.

One day while our speaker was discussing what I think was the Father-Heart of God, he asked anyone that was not a virgin to stand on the right side of the room and anyone that was a virgin to stand on the left side of the room. Everyone got up and started walking to opposite sides of the room having no idea where he was going with this.. we just had to trust him. After everyone got situated, there were about 10 people on the right side of the room while about 90 people were on the left side. We all stood there looking at each other feeling slightly awkward and confused.

Finally, our speaker begins talking about how the Lord heals and wants to heal us! He loves us so dearly and is a God of healing.

The people on the right side of the room began crying feeling very vulnerable and hurt. Now, this was nothing the speaker was necessarily doing. Feelings were just simply being aroused from past experiences.

The speaker talked about the how we are all one in Christ. We are united BECAUSE of Christ. Our virginity is nothing that separates us as a body. We are one body and that's solely because the Lord died for us. He died for our sins, however small or big we think our sins are. He talked about how the people on the left side of the room are JUST as broken as the people on the right. But we are forgiven thanks to Christ's sacrifice!

After speaking to us, he asked 10 men from the left side of the room to literally carry the girls from the right side of the room to the left. Not only that, but there was actually a guy on the right side and one of the men leaders carried him on his back to the left side of the room! Talk about a beautiful site to see! At this point, everyone was in tears. Not only was it incredibly sweet of these men but it was a real life representation of what the Lord wants to do for us and actually does for us every single day in any and every circumstance. He is eager to carry us to redemption! Because of Him we are forgiven and FREE! The girls coming from the right side to the left were balling and weak and it was amazing watching the MEN physically carry the girls -- putting us all on the same side as ONE IN CHRIST!

Jesus wants to heal us.
Jesus FORGIVES us.
Jesus loves us.

He is such a good, good Father and He's real! He really does carry us out of the dark places and into His healing presence. It's the most freeing and beautiful feeling. After everyone was on the same side of the room we all cried and hugged each other! It was an amazing site to see! I am so thankful for every single one of the people in my DTS and all the stories we shared that brought us closer together and then closer to Him.

Thank you, Father!
