Dear family and friends,
As usual, my life
is a constant adventure that has stretched and grown me in ways that I’ve
thoroughly enjoyed! Over the past 2 years I have spent time in Japan doing
tsunami relief and developing relationships with the Japanese and in Haiti
loving on beautiful children and serving helpless people who need medical
treatment sometimes as simple as Neosporin and Advil.
Throughout my time
in Japan I was disciplined, learned how to cope in tough situations and was
stretched in ways unimaginable. But the Japanese people taught me more than I
ever hoped for! They are the most hardworking, dedicated and loving group of
people I’ve ever met! In Haiti, I was awe-struck. Hearing about the hurting mothers,
fathers and children and actually seeing it with your own eyes are two
completely different things. Getting to see and experience first hand the dire
need was life changing. It opened my eyes to how blessed I am and how much I
can help. And that’s exactly what I want to continue to do.
God has placed in
my heart a desire for the nations and He is fulfilling that desire more than I
ever imagined! From July 6th to the 13th, 2013, I have an
opportunity for a short-term missions trip to San Quintin, which is located in
Central Baja (Baja is one of 31 states in Mexico). Baja has more than 320,000
people living in poverty and of those about 100,000 live in extreme poverty
meaning they cannot meet basic needs such as food, water, shelter and hygiene. I’ll
be going with an organization called Reel Life International (RLI)! RLI’s purpose
is to share the love of Christ with those in extreme need. Not only that, but
they also want to empower the impoverished and provide them with what they need
to be sustainable, which I feel is a very important part of missions.
I will be working
with a team consisting mostly of families. There we will all meet up with a ministry
called Mexican Medical. We will be doing activities such as a medical fair,
children’s activities, and light construction.
Airfare, food,
lodging, ground transportation, insurance, supplies and administrative costs
are around $1,250. The total fees are due by June 1st, 2013. I know
that this date is very close, but I whole-heartedly believe that if I am meant
to go, the funds will come. Time is not an issue for God.
If you decide you
would like to support me, please mail your check in the enclosed self-addressed
envelope with my name on a separate piece of paper. To find out more about RLI,

All gifts may be
considered tax deductible. Please consult your tax advisor for details. Please
make all checks payable to Reel Life International, Inc.
Sincerely,
Kathryn
