"It's better to have a short life that is full of what you like doing than a long life spent in a miserable way."
As most of you know, I want to travel. Whether it's with music or doing missions, I don't know yet.
But traveling, music and missions are my three passions. And I'm always told it's going to be really hard to find a job in those industries that pay well. & and I understand that. But I also know that God promises to give us the desires of our heart (Psalm 37:4). I know that He placed these desires in me for a reason. How He wants me to pursue them is the question.
I believe you should follow your dreams. It may be as hard as all get out but it'll be worth it. Cause that's the joy God placed in you! It also may not look exactly how you think it will or want it to, because you have to make some sort of money to live, but you'll be doing what you love.
I also completely understand that before doing what you love, you may have to do the not-so-fun jobs.
Like, working at a fast food restaurant or being the newspaper delivery guy. Because you have to start somewhere. I like my job, I do but I also hope I'm not there the rest of my life. It's a pre-requisite to what I hope to do in the future. I'll go with that. Cause God has it all under control.
I've recently realized that I am terrified of the unknown but I also LOVE the thrill of, well, not knowing. It makes it really exciting! It's like life is full of constant surprises from the Lord who is jealous for us! How sweet is that?!
I don't think God wants us to get caught up in money, money, money and lose the quickness of life. As Micah McElveen (President of Vapor Sports Ministries) says, "Life is a Vapor. Don't spend yours on the sidelines." And it's true, if you don't know what to do with your life yet, just do something. God will place that passion in you! He's won't leave you hanging. Life is just way too short to do nothing. You may not even realize that the little things you like could possibly be a passion that God is going to do great things with. So get out there and find your passion!
Ultimately what I'm saying is to follow your dreams. I know that's so over-used and it sounds a little corny but seriously, "it's better to have a short life that is full of what you like doing than a long life spent in a miserable way.'
What if money didn't matter? What would YOU do?
