haven't blogged in a while.

I haven't blogged in a couple of days so I decided to update you on my wonderful, crazy, busy life. : )

I've been in class all day today, not too exciting but the most exciting thing in my future is visiting my future home, Belhaven University! I think I'm going the last weekend of this month and I'm STOKED! I can't wait to be living there! Can't. Wait.

Ya know, I have a big passion for small bands who aren't big yet. I love them! I love discovering those bands that have such amazing music but just aren't at the point of let's say, Paramore or Switchfoot yet. Now don't get me wrong there are some extremely well-known and popular bands/artists I love like Paramore, Switchfoot, Regina Spektor, etc. But I like smaller bands a lot too because 1) I love telling people about new music I've found and 2) When I go see these bands live, I love getting the chance to actually talk with them without waiting in a line the size of Texas to just grab an autograph, say hey, and leave. It's just not as fun to me. So some bands I've discovered are,

1. In Passing
these guys are amazng! i just bought their cd not thinking anything of it. honestly, they pressured me into buying it and I just wanted to get out of the cold so I bought it. BUT, when I decided to listen to them.. I was amazed! They are SO great! Now, I'm so glad that I bought it and that I supported them in making their full length album.
2. Behold the Brave
These guys are from Chattanooga, TN and I love them too. The lead singer has a very unique voice! And the lyrics are great too!
3. The Sleep Design
These guys are local, from Birmingham, and they are all instrumental and they amaze me. I feel so honored to get to know them because they WILL be famous one day. Like it just gets me every time I hear them. Blows me away. No need for words when their music is simply that good!
4. All the Day Holiday
I'm pretty sure these guys are becoming very well-known but when I saw them live the first time at Cornerstone Festival, they weren't. Their lyrics connect with me so well. They are honest yet so encouraging!
5. Ascend the Hill
Oh gosh, these guys are a worship band and their music/lyrics get me every. single. time. It's beautiful! They are coming to my church in April.. stoked!!

I'm going to watch a movie with my little sister so I better go but do me a favor and check these bands out.. you won't be let down. : )
